Overwatch 2’s Response to Review Bombing and Future Plans
Overwatch 2, upon its launch on Steam on August 10, faced what many would say is a well-deserved review bombing, registering it as the worst user-reviewed game on the platform.

Responding to the situation, Overwatch 2 director, Aaron Keller, acknowledged the disappointment of players, especially concerning the cancellation of the long-anticipated PvE Hero mode. However, he emphasized the team’s commitment to constantly updating and improving the game, promising more content in terms of maps, heroes, game modes, and story missions.

Despite the absence of the PvE Hero mode, players can anticipate smaller PvE story missions, with the latest season, Invasion, delving into the backstory of heroes like Lucio and Reinhardt.

Konami’s Celebration of the Metal Gear Solid Legacy
Konami is celebrating the revered Metal Gear Solid series with two major releases: a remake of “Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater” titled “Delta” and the “Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1.” This collection includes the classic MSX/NES games and the initial three games from the Metal Gear Solid series.

While the games have retained their original content with minimal UI upgrades to suit modern controllers, there are content warnings for elements that may now be considered insensitive. The collection also includes bonus features like digital “Screenplay Books,” “Master Books” detailing the story and characters, and a digital graphic novel originally released on PSP and DVD.

The effort to make this collection comprehensive suggests Konami’s dedication to preserving and potentially expanding upon the Metal Gear legacy in the future.

Destiny 2: Upcoming DLC, New Format, and ‘Season of the Witch’ Details
Bungie has unveiled details for the forthcoming “Destiny 2” DLC, “The Final Shape,” which marks the culmination of the “Light and Darkness” saga started in 2014. Set to launch on Feb. 27, this DLC will centralize the narrative around The Traveler, a core element of Destiny’s lore.

Players will venture into The Pale Heart inside The Traveler, experiencing nods to past elements of the saga and confronting the new enemy type, the Subjugators. Along with this, players can anticipate three new Super abilities and the reintroduction of classic weapons from “Destiny 1.”

Shifting from its past format, Bungie plans to release episodes rather than seasons beginning March 2024, aiming for a revamped approach to storytelling. These episodes, namely “Echoes,” “Revenant,” and “Heresy,” will delve into the aftermath of the “Light and Darkness” saga.

Meanwhile, as the transition to episodes is still on the horizon, “Season of the Witch” has been introduced, pushing players to assist in the resurrection of The Witch Queen and face the formidable Hive god of war. This season will also debut “The Deck of Whispers,” a novel player progression system.
